For Ford Ranger owners, there are a whole host of customisable parts that can be purchased to make the vehicle feel more unique and personal. One of those essential elements is the front grille, and this month at Milner Off Road, we’re going to tell you everything you need to know about Ford Ranger grilles.
What are Ford Ranger grilles?
Ford Ranger grilles sit above the front bumper of the vehicle and serve a number of purposes. Their main purpose, however, is to allow adequate ventilation through to the engine bay, keeping things cool as you drive along.
From an aesthetic point of view, people like to replace their front grille because they want something differently shaped or styled, altering the visual appeal to suit their taste. You can find different front-end grille plates that vary by design and colour, helping to match with other aspects of the vehicle such as the bumper colour and the overall paintwork.
A grille can also be replaced if it has been significantly damaged in an accident or if stones have chipped away at the existing grille leaving blemishes.
Do Ford Ranger grilles impact insurance?
If your Ford Ranger has the same, standard grille that it was originally manufactured with, there won’t be any concerns regarding insurance. If, however, you have made a change to your vehicle in the form of a different grille, this could be considered a modification. Regardless of whether it changes the performance and value of the vehicle or not, it’s always better to check whether this will affect your insurance before going ahead with a modification.
If you’ve already modified your vehicle without notifying your insurer, your coverage could be voided and you should let them know immediately to establish whether you need to purchase new insurance.
How much do Ford Ranger grilles cost?

How do you install Ford Ranger grilles?
In order to install a Ford Ranger grille, you’ll need to first remove the existing one. This involves removing the plastic shroud in the engine bay using a trim removal kit once you’ve popped the bonnet. You’ll then have access to remove the existing grille, leaving room to fit your newly chosen replacement.
Once the new grille is firmly in place, you can follow the process in reverse to put the cover back and secure your vehicle. It should be noted that the process may vary between different Ford Ranger models, which is why we can’t give specific step-by-step instructions. If you require further assistance you can consult your manual or contact your nearest dealership with assistance.
